Dries Van Noten Spring 2011 RTW

as you know dries is my hero, a pioneer, legend and truly one of the most incredible designers of this era. i am most excited about the unveiling of AW 11 .. so very soon in Paris. i can hardly wait to be transported into a stratosphere far away into elation. no trends, just Dries. the Dries ethos.

completely full filling my desires until then, was the arrival of Spring 11 in our office this week. already four pieces purchased, my heart especially skipped a beat.. or two.. with the dip dyed denim jacket. trying it on for the first time was insane. i could hardly take my eyes off him. this is the thing with Dries. it consumes you and the hunt is on, literally, to add more and more to your own little capsule.. the addiction is un-parralelled and without restraint. all i need is dries.

the spring 2011 as you know was inspired by the late painter, jef verheyen
(a Belgian painter who died in 1984, and it made him ponder the ways he could transmute Verheyen’s efforts to capture light... source: via style.com)

the inspiration is echoed throughout the collection entirely. piece by piece, the light has resonated and lures you in. a sense of calm and completeness. i am done.

ps.. my jacket is insane, did i mention? oh my. he is my leading man right now x

Tan and Red

my favourite colour combination at the moment, individually classic, collectively mesmerising. i cannot take my eyes of the first look below which is DKNY AW11. The cooolest cardi and perfect amount of layering detail in the cuff and collar. playful, disheveled. easy.
and that marios schwab tan leather dress......the subtlety and clean lines amplified with those red gloves... such beautiful toughness. enjoy x

No 21 AW11

In lieu of the prints and colour, Alessandro Dell'Acqua's collection was streamlined, focused and sensible. it covered a spectrum of sporty, pretty and sexy aesthetics and whilst it did not pushing the accelerator on concept or design, it delivered something for everyone. i especially love the incredible sweater as seen on Ginta. with the perfect amount of slouch, and that black lace back, i need to pre-order this one pretty please!

Dax Gabler

Devi Kroell's first collection under the new label is simply endearing. perfectly studied yet completely understated and effortless. it is well edited and provides an endless appetite for plenty of knitwear in mostly a palette of neutral hues. A leather cuffed and collared shirt was one of my favourite pieces which was worked back with many of the knits in the tiny 15 look capsule. its the coolest shirt i have seen in a while. need to have. that is all. x

Derek Lam AW 11 shoes

super amazing pumps seen at the AW 11 show in new york. where to begin, i want them all. literally.

Cobalt blue

one of my all time favourites... even though its a colour many love to hate.. mostly misunderstood really.. i heart cobalt blue anything... a pant most especially, however a chunky knit/sweater or silk crepe skirt can be just as amazing..

Key look: a pair of cobalt blue pants, with a crisp white oversized shirt, add some motor cycle black acne boots or some patent black brogues.. you are done. that is all. no over engineering on accessories necessary. keep it simple.

Big love to see this colour is starting to surface as seen in AW 11 shoes
karen walker, Rachel Roy, Araks, Adam and Yigal. especially love the sporty interpretation with the drawstring waist at Walker.
